SOS - Huriata: What is Parliament?

What is Parliament?

The Parliament is made up of two main roles to govern the country - The house of representatives and sovereign. In the House of representatives has 120 members of parliament (MP) that have roles like how taxes are spent or where it is used (schools, medical, buildings), updating laws and making laws. The role of Sovereign is to accept or sign off any new law that is made, which is done by the Governor general, Patsy Reddy, in place of the Queen. These are the roles of the Parliament to govern NZ.
